Bangkok Thailand - world loves Thailand - Thailand news bulletin | Facebook

Watch all on delicious

- 16th Oct. 2011 Rescue workers have reinforced make-shift walls and sand-bags around Bangkok as the city faces an onslaught of floodwater. Thailand has experienced the worst floods in half a century with almost a third of the country now swamped. Over 297 people have been killed and the damage bill is at $3 billion. Now low-lying areas of the capital are at risk of water swells from the Chao Phraya river and a wall of northern run-off water. Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has offered reassurance for Bangkok's 12 million people saying the city is well fortified.
